Good bagels, lox, and spreads, with some tasty coffee available to pair. I do wish they had a few more options for creamer, but that's a slim demand on a good local bagel joint. I'd definitely come back again for breakfast.

Small town bagel place better than name brand chains

With all of the crazy new corporate restaurants going in at Newtown, its refreshing to do business with a small local business with good prices and great food.

Service is always pleasant and never a complaint but the day I was there last the cashier was eating his bagel right off of the area to prep food.

Staff was horrible. The girl who took our order was on her phone WHILE we were ordering. Had to tell her what type of bagel we wanted 3 times. There was only one other person waiting for their food, yet we somehow had to wait 15 min for bagels. The girl who prepared our order had poison ivy ALL OVER her hands and arms. Absolutely disgusting. The food ended up being extremely salt, but overall bland. Save yourself the money and go to Manhattan Bagel instead.

Love Newtown bagel. It is my go to in the mornings for a quick bite. Try the sundried tomato bagel. It's to die for! Tons of great spreads too.

I frequent this place for breakfast on my way to work. I really enjoy their selection, and their breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal! Only downside is that even when there are only a few customers in store there can still be a pretty long wait!

Worst bagel place in Newtown, ever.Pretty much every time I go in and order double egg, they have no problem charging extra for it, but there is on one small egg on the sandwich.Service takes 15 minutes to make a sandwich.No one pays attention.I’m a positive dude who doesn’t write reviews, but I’ve had it with how they basically steal your money and don’t give you what you ordered!

definitely an underrated hidden gem of Newtown — the bagels are amazing and the variety is incredible as well, especially if you go early in the AM. love it!

Homemade bagels, great bagel sandwiches, friendly staff, one of the few places in newtown that won't break your wallet for lunch.

Not only do they have gluten-free bagels (plain and everything), they have a toaster that they only use for gluten-free bagels; first time I ever encountered that. The staff is friendly and helpful, the music mix is great, and I like the coffee. Please offer lactose-free milk.

Food is okay nothing special but the wait is unbelievable long even with the large staff they have there compared to other bagel places and the one guy that works there stuck his finger in his nose three times while I was there absolutely gross.

Great customer service and the homemade cream cheeses are the best. Try the veggie.

I do like that it's not just a bagel shop. You can get chrosant toasted or not white wheat or rye. Not bad reasonably priced.

Update EDIT: 5/20, same old story. No everything, no blueberry, no cinnamon, no raisin. Plenty of ExSEEDingly Delicious and Whole Wheat. How does this happen at 10am on a Sunday? I’ll tell you. Bad planning. Bad management. What’s worse than not making an extra dozen for $2.50? Losing $30+ because you didn’t have any bagels to sell and still throwing away 3 dozen that no one wants. Pretty good bagels… if you can get here before 11am. They’re open until 2pm for lunch sandwiches; but good luck getting the flavor of bagel that you want after late morning. How does a bagel shop sell out of Everything consistently but always have leftover Seedy and Whole Wheat? Frustrating.

I'm here every year for a work event and each morning starts at Newtown Bagel. Hot and fresh with a great selection (Pumpernickel Everything is my favorite!!) The flavored coffee is a plus as well. No frills goodness.

I’m celiac and was grateful to find a place that makes gluten free breakfast sandwiches, this is the only place I know of that does so. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is when I was asking how it’s prepared (what meats were GF, if any bread touches the grill, etc) they couldn’t tell me for sure. For celiacs, even if the spatula touches a regular bagel, that’s not good. That being said, I took a chance on getting the breakfast sandwich on GF bagel and did not have a reaction. But I wish they were more certain/knowledgeable about it, had a designated bread-free spot on the grill or offered to quickly give it an extra scrape clean, although I understand it’s busy. Maybe have a separate pan in the back with separate spatula?The reviews saying the wait is too long - I don’t think is fair. Yes, you may wait a few minutes (I wait even longer for the GF bagel), but having worked in a similar establishment, they’re very busy (which is a good sign in my eyes!) and they move quickly.

The worst customer service. The staff have no idea what they are doing. I called ahead to make sure gluten free bagels were available. The person who answered the phone told me I didn't need to order them as they are always available. I listened to her. I came in today and was told they don't have gluten free bagels and more specifically the everything ones I inquired about weren't available all week. The staff was less than friendly or helpful. Won't be going back there.

I walked into the restaurant around 10:30 AM and ordered my everything bagel and received it cold and hardly toasted. I wiped the gallon of butter on it to show how it is hardly toasted. Your response is completely false. I ordered my bagel inside and then received it not toasted and covered in a not normal amount of butter. This is the second time this has happened. And either your workers are lying to you or you made up the online order.

Nice little breakfast joint. I'm a big fan of the omelettes here, which are highly customizable. Staff is helpful and will bring you your order if dining in!

Mistake made by leaving out the meat in a sandwich. Very nice offered me a free sandwich. Both sandwiches were tasteless. Pretty awful. Ingredients drab and tough. Too bad. They try.

Awesome breakfast sandwich

The wait is so long. Do they mill the grain onsite?! Lol. But on a more positive note the staff is very friendly and the food is pretty good. Everything is also priced very reasonably. Get better coffee!
